Downtime

We apologize for the downtime.  We did not expect the DNS transfer to take this long or even cause a downtime during the transfer of servesr.  We hope everything should be running smoothly now.  If there any questions, feel free to contact us using the Contact tab in the main menu.

New Server

We have acquired another server to be able to meet your demands. The website has been switched over to allow all of the files that are uploaded by the users to be put on the new server. Nothing that has been done should affect the usability of the site. The old files will slowly be moved over to the new server over the next few days. This should not cause any interuptions in the distribution of those files.

New Features

A couple new features have been added to make the site more user friendly.

 

New Features:
1) Favorites: If you have registered for an account than you can add different videos that you see to your favorites. You can then later on go to your accounts page and then be able to view them whenever you like. To try out this feature please register or login to your account and then click the heart on whichever content you like.
2) Rating System: We have changed out rating system to a more user-friendly mouseover system that does not require you to view the rating on one side of the view page and rate on the other side. You are able to mouseover and click whatever rating that you would like to and it will be added to the rating of the content.

 

Features to come:
1) Search: Being able to search all of the public media available on the site to find whatever you would like the see.
2) Playlists: Being able to create a list of your favorite streaming content and playing them one after another without having to revisit the site and finding your content.
3) Remote Upload: Being able to upload content from your desktop without ever having to open your browser and being able to upload content directly off of another webserver without having to first download it and reupload it to DiT.

DiT Logo Contest

As DiT is having an exponential growth, we want our logo to identify our motto of FREE File Hosting & Streaming Service!  Therefore, we are holding open contest for DiT logo to be submitted by our users.

The logo should:
    - Portray our service of dispering data
    - Can be made into a favicon (16x16)
    - Be unique and easily identifiable (trademark type)
    - Fits in with our current style and easily adjusts with various color styles

Submissions can be made via web friendly formats (jpg/png/gif).  However, if selected, we would request for a vector or high resolution version of the submission.  As part of this contest, upon submission, you must be willing to give up all rights to the copyright and donate it to Disperse iT.

Prizes:
    - 1st Place: One year of Platinum membership!
    - 2nd Place: Half a year of Platinum membership!
    - 3rd Place: Quarter year of Platinum membership!

Disk Space Full - FIXED

The issue has been resolved!

As you are aware of unknown error upon upload.  This is due to tremendous traffic and success of DiT in a short time.  However, because of this we are out of disk space and working on getting it resolved.

Upload Bug

As many of you were aware, we had a bug that hide the Upload button and disabled the uploads for everyone.  We found the issue related to streaming only function we are implementing, this will be tested again prior to implementation.  The streaming only function will allow users to share media files without the ability to download it.

New DiT

Welcome to the new Disperse iT!  Please bare with us as we iron out a few kinks.  The new DiT has many new features, such as:

1. Ability to fast forward streaming media.
2. Ability to tag uploads for organizing and ease of searching.
